ABSTRACT PAINTING – The In Between

Anything that is beyond our immediate grasp and reach, instantly becomes less than life size. The space we reach across between ourselves and the canvas is always a unique “life size” point of extra ordinary intimate contact.

Transported by the island where land, sea and big skies meet, equipped with colours, materials and the marks they can make, and ever aware of the need for an inner focus to renew and expand our visual world, the course will make a voyage in and through this “in between” space. Exploring the potential for meaning within the language of non-figurartive/abstract painting.

The studio sessions will be supported by lectures, assignments and technical guidance.
The course is open to all with abundant curiosity, an open mind and an open heart.

David Cobb (born 1946, Bexley, South East London). Formerly lecturer in Fine Art and course leader of the Foundation Course in Art & Design at the City of Bath College, Bath England. Now resident and working in Denmark since 2006. David Cobb understands Danish, but preferably speaks English. The teaching is therefore conducted in English.
